JW Baron Coastworks Ltd is the sister company to J W Baron Earthworks, which was founded back in 1997. Due to the success of the various coastal engineering projects over the past 20 years, the decision was made in 2020 to establish JW Baron Coastworks Ltd as the dedicated coastal engineering division specializing in marine maintenance and construction.

Since its establishment, JW Baron Coastworks Ltd has gone from strength to strength working as either the principal contractor or sub-contractor on various marine projects throughout the South West.

As specialist coastal engineers JW Baron Coastworks have undertaken projects ranging in scale from minor works such as step and slipway repairs across Devon and Cornwall to major rebuilds of sea and harbour walls in Plymouth using specialist construction materials and techniques.

Working in these environmentally sensitive and ever-changing environments, often with short tidal windows and restricted access requires our dedicated, skilled team to work to tight deadlines. Our priorities are simple, we enforce robust site operating procedures, comply with health and safety standards and fully recognise environmental awareness as key considerations.

JW Baron Coastworks and JW Baron Earthworks collectively own a growing range of plant and equipment that is available for operated plant hire when not being utilized on our own contract work. By owning our own plant, pontoons, and work boats we can keep project costs to a minimum, making some small but essential projects affordable. We can also mobilise at very short notice if required.
