Cremyll Ferry Slipway Emergency Repairs

A large void was discovered under the concrete deck of the Cremyll ferry slipway.

We attended the site within hours and installed props to help stabilise the deck slab.

Engineers devised a solution to repair the slipway before it collapsed.

We installed Odex piles at regular spacings as per the design, these were drilled through the edge beam and anchored into concrete foundations.

Once the piles had been installed and the deck stabilised the remaining lose material and failing concrete was carefully removed.

We then installed a back shutter using concrete lego blocks before fixing steel shutter pans on the front face.

Concrete was pumped into the shuttering in lifts to fully support the edge beam.

On completion of the new concrete wall supporting the edge beam and series of holes were drilled in the deck slab and the void was mass filled with concrete.
